TECHO se compromete con AMEXCID para promover el voluntariado en los jóvenes mexicanosTECHO agrees with AMEXCID to promote volunteerism in Mexican youth

 

En el marco de la XXIV Cumbre Iberoamericana de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno, y de las celebraciones del Día Internacional de los Voluntarios, la Agencia Mexicana de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AMEXCID), suscribió el Convenio Marco de Cooperación con TECHO.

La firma estuvo a cargo del director ejecutivo de la AMEXCID, Juan Manuel Valle Pereña, y del director regional de TECHO en México y El Caribe, Luis Bonilla. El proyecto adscrito a la Conferencia Iberoamericana se denomina “Techo, jóvenes por una Iberoamérica sin pobreza”, y fue aprobado en la XX Cumbre Iberoamericana de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno en Mar de la Plata, en 2010. A la fecha cuenta con la participación de veintiún países, incluido México.

El objetivo del Convenio es crear una asociación estratégica para la cooperación internacional, que se traduzca en la ejecución de proyectos para la superación de la pobreza, en diversas áreas, tales como hábitat y habitabilidad, desarrollo social y económico, promoción de capacidades comunitarias, entre otros, en América Latina y el Caribe. Y, de manera particular, mediante un Programa de Voluntariado de Jóvenes Mexicanos.

Con la suscripción de este Convenio, México realizará en 2015 un primer Programa de Voluntarios Jóvenes Mexicanos, cuyas actividades tendrán lugar en Centroamérica y el Caribe, al mismo tiempo que se fortalecerán y ampliarán los lazos de amistad y cooperación con los pueblos de esa región.

Luis Bonilla, como parte del grupo de proyectos adscritos a la Segib, expuso en uno de los paneles, enfatizando sobre el aporte que tiene el voluntariado en la construcción de sociedades menos desiguales.

In the context of the 24th Ibero-American Conference of Heads of State and Governments and the celebrations of the International Volunteer Day, the International Cooperation Mexican Agency for Development (in Spanish, AMEXCID) endorsed the Framework Cooperation Agreement with TECHO.

The executive director of AMEXCID, Juan Manuel Valle Pereña and regional director of TECHO for Mexico and the Caribbean, Luis Bonilla, were in charge of the endorsement. The project ascribed to the Ibero-American Conference is called «»Techo, young people for Ibero America without poverty»» and was passed at the 20th Ibero-American Conference of Heads of State and Governments in Mar del Plata in 2010. Up to now, it features the participation of twenty-one countries, including Mexico.

The aim of the Agreement is to create a strategic association for the international cooperation, which translates into the execution of projects to overcome poverty in various areas, such as habitat and habitability, social and economic development, promotion of community abilities, amongst others, in Latin America and the Caribbean. and, in particular, through a Volunteer Program of Mexican Young People.

By signing this Agreement, Mexico will conduct a first Program of Young Mexican Volunteers in 2015, whose activities will take place in Central America and the Caribbean, and at the same time, friendship and cooperation bonds with people from that region will strengthen and broaden.

Luis Bonilla, as part of the group of projects ascribed to the Ibero-American Secretary General spoke in one of the panels, putting emphasis on the contribution of volunteering to build less unequal societies.
