TECHO organiza un Google Hangout para conmemorar el Día Internacional para la Erradicación de la PobrezaTecho organizes a Google Hangout to commemorate the International Day for Erradication of Poverty

“¿Es la pobreza la principal limitación en el desarrollo de América Latina?” será la pregunta que especialistas del PNUD, Care, la Corporación de dirigentas “También somos chilenos” y TECHO buscarán responder a través de un foro virtual.

A las 21:30 horas (GMT-3), se reunirán expositores de El Salvador, Haití y Chile, para plantear la potente interrogante “¿Es la pobreza la principal limitación en el desarrollo de América Latina?” aprovechando la plataforma Google Hangout. De esta forma TECHO busca impulsar la reflexión este 17 de octubre, en el Día Internacional para la erradicación de la Pobreza.

 Un foro virtual de 35 minutos albergará el debate de Jimmy Vásquez, Asesor en Pobreza y Objetivos del Milenio, del Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) El Salvador; el arquitecto Rodrigo Melo, quien trabaja como Shelter Coordinator en Care Haití y que volcará su experiencia de trabajo en comunidades vulnerables; Cecilia Castro, Presidenta de la Corporación de Dirigentes También Somos Chilenos y Agustín Wolff, director social de TECHO para Latinoamérica y el Caribe.

 Para participar en el conversatorio, a la hora de la actividad se publicará el vínculo en las cuentas de Facebook , Twitter y Youtube de TECHO. Para entrar al espacio de discusión con los expositores el hashtag será “#NoMasPobreza”.

Al finalizar la actividad, publicaremos un E-book con los principales puntos de cada exposición y los comentarios de quienes se sumen a este coloquio latinoamericano.

Taking advantage of Google’s platform, at 9:30 pm (GMT-3) speakers from El Salvador, Haití and Chile will get together to discuss this powerful query “Is poverty the main limitation in the development in Latin America?” This way, TECHO seeks to encourage the observance of October 17th, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

A virtual forum will host the 35-minute debate between Jimmy Vasquez, Advisor on Poverty and Millenium Objectives; the architect Rodrigo Melo, who works as the Shelter Coordinator in Care Haití, who will prresent his different experiences working with vulnerable communities; Cecilia Castro, President of the Corporation of Leaders “También somos chilenos” and Agustín Wolff, Social Director of TECHO for Latin America and the Caribbean.

At the time of the debate , the link will be publish in our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts . The hashtag to join the discussion with the speakers will be #NoMasPobreza (#NoMorePoverty)

At the end of the activity, we will publish an E-Book to expose the most important arguments from the speakers, besides the comments from the community that joined this Latin american colloquium.
