TECHO suma a Young&Rubicam y Burson Marsteller a construcciones de viviendas de emergencia en MéxicoTECHO adds Young&Rubicam and Burson Marsteller to constructions of transitional houses in Mexico

The employees from the agencies formed part of the teams that divided the more than 300 volunteers, that arrived at Xochimilco, in the Federal District, to relate with the communities and to build a total of 26 houses for families living in extreme poverty .

The 15 participants from the agencies included employees from Burson Marsteller Mexico and Young and Rubicam Miami and Mexico, both agencies have a pro-bono partnership with TECHO. In addition, there were volunteers from General Electric as well as university students and high school students from D.F., Mexico.

The experience was eye opening and extremely rewarding for the participants from both Mexico and Miami. “We have to spread the word that we have a social reality that is very hidden and it is not too difficult to contribute with a little effort to build a roof!” said Verónica Modragón Juárez, Business Manager at Burson Marsteller Mexico.

Esteban Bird, Account Manager at Young & Rubicam, expressed, “More people should have the privilege of being able to expose themselves to this type of service, that not only builds a home for these families in need, but also helps build a better human being in oneself. Little by little, person by person and roof by roof, we will make a better world.”

TECHO is supported by the WPP group; thanks to the work of Y&R, Burson Marsteller, Bravo and MEC, TECHO is able to launch regional campaigns and execute communicational efforts that help create awareness and get one step closer to achieving the goal of eradicating poverty in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.
