More than a thousand young volunteers will take to the streets of Miami on Saturday, the 28th of September in the first Colecta (fundraising activity) that TECHO has organized in the United States. The purpose: to support the work that the organization has done in 19 countries in Latin America with the help of volunteers and slum residents.

In addition, they are hoping to collect $200,000 US dollars, money that will contribute to the development of programs dealing with construction, health, education, microfinance, legal assistance, and in office training.

During the day of fundraising, the construction of an emergency dwelling in Paraguay will be shown on the platform TECHO.org/live, in a way in which the people «»can visualize the poverty»» and understand the «»urgency»» of a relentless fight against poverty in the region, emphasized by TECHO-US, with its headquarters in Miami.
