The Heart of Haiti includes a selection of photographs and a documentary which aim to promote and transmit the spirit of resilience and optimism that Haitians struggle everyday for their country

Photographer Alberto Pla documented, between the end of September and November 2013, the work of TECHO in Haiti, which involves about 200 volunteers spread across several educational, health and agricultural projects, among others. «»There is another Haiti that is being produced with the help of volunteers, those who are working on TECHO, which are not few, and are doing a great job for their country, «»says Pla.

The most significant feature of the work of Pla is optimism and hope that transmit their images, which share the same thousands of Haitians struggling from the TECHO programs to generate progress and development.

The exhibition will feature the participation of Donald Dorelus, Social Sub director of TECHO-Haiti who says that «»The Heart of Haiti, is us and these smiles, music, warmth, and hope.«» It also adds that he is honored to participate in this event because it has «»the opportunity to represent a different Haiti that is never in the press.»»
